I'm so sorry to hear this. I was in exactly the same place as you three weeks ago. Finn had to have an x-ray to see if he ingested something that was causing his anemia. Nothing was found in his stomach, but the x-ray showed that his heart was enlarged. I took him for an echo cardiogram and the diagnosis was mild HCM. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that Kika's outcome is different than Finn's, or that at the very least, you caught this early like I did so that treatment can be started if/when necessary. Please keep us posted.

In Finn's case, some of what was seen on his echo may be secondary to his anemia condition and the steroid that he's taking right now. Probably not all of it though. My Finn just turned one last week. It's so sad that he has all of these problems at such a young age. I've got my fingers crossed for Kika that you get good news today.

Thank you Megan, they told us we have mild case of HCM :(( but since we dont know her real age (she is approximatelly 10-12 month old) and since there is not lots of symptoms to go by -- she is in the green zone and we just should repeat test in 4-6 month to make sure it is not progressing... ergh..

She is around 1 -- we got her from the resque 4 month ago and she was very malnurished back then - thin, fragile and weak. We do not know her "real" age and therefore we don't know if she still grows and we can expect it go away or that what we going to have forever.
Just in case we will repeat the test in 4-6 month to see if there are any changes, but so far I understood that we are in the green zone.

Poor baby was so scared today, I never seen her that scared when we took her to our regular vet.


What did they say about Finn? Will you have to repeat tests? He told us there is no medication are advised at that stage..
