Question Sphynx Behavior Question

Hi everyone. I have a quick question. I've never owned a Sphynx cat before so I'm not sure what there behaviors are like as they get older.

Belza just turned 2 in September and have noticed in this past month or so her behavior starting to change. She isn't being as active as she normally has been and loves to sleep and lay on my lap a lot more. I was wondering if this is normal for this breed as they get older to become more relaxed? If not should I be worried it could be something more?

She still does like to play but seems to prefer relaxing more over playing. She does seem to get more active at night when I am wanting to go to bed and she stays up and is a "terrorist" this is what I call her when she is being super wild.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Not totally sure, but I think that is normal.
If I recall correctly, sphynx usually fully mature around that age and this is when they start to relax a little more.

BUT- if anything else, like eating or litter box habits have changed then a vet visit is in order!

I agree, it is my understanding that they slow down beteen their 2nd and 3rd year. If everything else remains the same I wouldn't worry!

I would agree that this is the time when they leave the crazy kitten stage and slow down a bit. But I would also make sure she's had a checkup, had a vet listen to hear heart etc. Not everyone does annual vaccines, but an anual exam is good.

I noticed Nofuratu slowed down a bit at this age too...but he also developed HCM and then HOCM so I was never sure if it was regular maturing or his heart.

They do "chill out" as they get older, keep in mind, cats in the wild sleep through out the day and hunt at night, although your cute bald kitty lives at home and lays in your lap, his natural "wild cat" instincts kick in once in awhile! As Nofuratu said, check ups a few times a year is a must!
